Endicott College will host a debate between candidates for Massachusetts’ 6th Congressional District (MA-6) on Thursday, September 17, at 7 p.m. in Cleary Lecture Hall. The event is free and open to the public; registration is open.
Hosted by the Endicott Center for Civic Participation (ECCP) in partnership with the League of Women Voters, the debate will bring together the candidates competing for the open congressional seat following the September 1 primary election. Candidates will make their case to voters and address issues affecting the 6th District, the Commonwealth, and the nation.
Veteran Beacon Hill journalist Katie Lannan will moderate the debate. Lannan has more than a decade of experience reporting on Massachusetts government, politics, and public policy. She currently serves as editor of MASSterList, Affiliated News Services’ widely read morning newsletter for members of the Commonwealth’s political, policy, business, and civic communities.
Before joining MASSterList, Lannan spent four years as a State House reporter for GBH News, producing coverage across multiple platforms. She previously reported for the State House News Service, where she covered Beacon Hill as part of its longstanding State House press corps and hosted several SHNS Policy Forums. Her extensive experience reporting on state government and the people and policies shaping Massachusetts will bring valuable context and perspective to the debate.

The race will determine the successor to U.S. Rep. Seth Moulton, who has represented MA-6 since 2015 and is seeking election to the U.S. Senate in 2026. The open-seat contest has drawn a crowded field of candidates seeking to represent the district, which encompasses much of northeastern Massachusetts, including Beverly and communities across the North Shore.
The event reflects the ECCP’s mission to strengthen civic engagement, encourage informed participation in democracy, and create opportunities for Endicott students and members of the broader community to immerse themselves in the processes and issues shaping their region.
