The project will bring together faculty and staff from the liberal arts, Internship & Career Center, and Student Affairs to explore how reflection, critical thinking, and values-driven career exploration can be more intentionally integrated into students’ academic and co-curricular experiences.
“This grant gives us the opportunity to bring together colleagues from across the College to think more intentionally about one of the questions at the heart of higher education: how students connect what they are learning with who they hope to become,” said Sam Alexander, associate dean of the School of Social Sciences, Communication, & Humanities and the project director. “At Endicott, we’ve long combined liberal education with experiential learning. This work will help us make those connections more visible and help students reflect more deeply on meaning, purpose, and the kind of lives they want to lead.”
The initiative builds on Endicott’s longstanding commitment to combining liberal education with professional preparation. Beginning in their first year, students complete the first of three internships, all of which are integrated into their course of study through a structured process of reflection and mentorship from their academic advisors and dedicated internship faculty.
