This year, Endicott’s Human Resources team has launched a new tradition with heart: the first-ever Excellence Awards—a celebration designed to honor the everyday efforts that make the College an exceptional place to work, learn, and grow.
Created to spotlight employees who embody Endicott's spirit and values, the awards recognize individuals who bring people together, go the extra mile, and lead with integrity. Categories include Collaboration Champion, Service and Dedication, and Inspiring Leadership, and this year’s winners proved that excellence comes in many forms.
Earlier this spring, faculty and staff were invited to nominate colleagues who make a difference in quiet, meaningful, and sometimes heroic ways. The response was overwhelming: 75 nominations poured in from across campus, highlighting just how much Endicott employees appreciate one another.
“We started the Excellence Awards because we wanted to take time to recognize the incredible contributions our staff make every day,” said Kate White, Vice President of Human Resources. “So many people go above and beyond, often behind the scenes, and we felt it was important to shine a light on that work in a meaningful way.”
The awards were unveiled during Gull Appreciation Day, when they joined forces with the long-standing Milestone Awards to form one feel-good celebration of dedication, achievement, and community spirit. Each honoree received public recognition from peers and leadership, along with a monetary gift, as a symbol of the College’s gratitude.
“Our goal is to create a moment where people feel seen, valued, and proud of what they do,” White continued. “Whether someone is being honored for years of service or a standout achievement, we hope the experience feels personal and uplifting. It’s also about bringing the community together to celebrate one another and the impact we make, both individually and collectively.”
Associate Dean of the Gerrish School of Business Randy Hopkins and Athletic Giving and Alumni Engagement Officer Kevin Morency received the Collaboration Champion Award, which honors individuals who promote teamwork, open communication, and shared goals across departments.
Hopkins was recognized for his thoughtful leadership of the Curriculum Task Force, transforming a complex academic overhaul into a model of collaboration and faculty engagement. His inclusive approach and innovative problem-solving have fostered a lasting culture of teamwork across campus.
Morency, a proud Endicott alumnus, was recognized for bringing heart and hustle to his role in Alumni Engagement and Annual Giving. Known for his tireless energy and ability to rally the community, Morency’s impact can be felt in every event and fundraising effort he touches.
The Service and Dedication Award, given to those who go above and beyond in service to the College and celebrates individuals who make Endicott better each and every day through their quiet commitment and steadfast support, went to Professor of Mathematics Mike Diehl and Director of Special Events Lauren Bek.
Diehl was recognized for his tireless work across campus committees and roles, dependable presence, and positive influence, which are deeply felt and widely appreciated throughout the community.
Bek received the award for her incredible attention to detail and heartfelt care in organizing inclusive, beautifully executed events that bring people together, fostering connection and school spirit in memorable ways.
Awarded to individuals who guide with integrity, empathy, and a focus on growth, Inspiring Leadership Award honors both formal and informal leaders whose influence helps others thrive. This year, Associate Vice President of Marketing and Communications Anthony Donaldson and Chief of Police and Director of Public Safety Kerry Ramsdell received the award.
Donaldson was honored for his behind-the-scenes leadership on major campus projects, his collaborative nature, and his commitment to cultivating a high-performing, supportive team culture.
Ramsdell was awarded for her resilient leadership within her department during a particularly challenging year. Her steady hand, empathy, and dedication continue to inspire her colleagues and elevate the campus community.
In their debut year, the Excellence Awards offered more than recognition; they sparked reflection, gratitude, and pride. With so many nominations, this new tradition is clearly here to stay.
