Join Stephanie Scarcella, jazz singer, as she performs ballads and standards from the jazz era at Endicott College’s free Fridays in the Rose Series on Friday, October 5, 2018 from 12:00-12:45 p.m. At Fridays in the Rose, audiences can enjoy a free concert and grab a bite to eat over the lunch hour.

Scarcella hails from Casper, Wyoming, where she began her musical journey. She performed in vocal jazz ensembles in high school and studied jazz and musical theater for two years in Southern California. But hearing her jazz professor sing both classical and jazz styles in the same concert inspired her dream of being that stylistically versatile. Stephanie studied opera at The Boston Conservatory, and since 2011, she has been singing throughout New England performing as a soloist in recitals and concert works, in principal operatic roles, and as a regular chorister with Boston Lyric Opera. Fulfilling her dream, now she’s back to her jazz roots in a concert of standards of swing and ballads!

“It’s been my dream to sing all kinds of music well, and to be able to share varied styles with my audiences,” Scarcella said. “This program, while a departure from my recent work, is really a return to my first love – jazz.”
