Jessie Jean Stinnette, American freelance dance artist and yoga instructor with professional artistic experience in the US, UK, France, Belgium, and the Netherlands, will teach a master class at Endicott College on Tuesday, October 2 from 4-5:30 p.m. This class will focus on tuning perception and awareness within the colorful modulations of the dancing body, and to nurture clarity and specificity while dancing. Dancers will approach moving through the sensation of playful curiosity, equally capturing the experience of stillness and exuberant motion. Exercises will shift between sweaty athleticism and mindful research through the lenses of somatic awareness, improvisation, set phrase work, and compositional framework.
This masterclass will serve over 35 students within the dance program at Endicott College and we welcome participants of ages 15 and older of our extended community to attend. No experience needed, but we ask that dance or workout attire be worn. Please no outside shoes. Tia’s Theatre, Manninen Center for the Arts, Endicott College, 376 Hale St. Beverly, MA 01915.
