Endicott College Women in LEADership Presents its Second Annual Changemakers Conference

April 18, 2017

The second annual Changemakers Conference at Endicott College will bring together inspiring and courageous professionals and student leaders for an evening of networking and discussion. Tickets are still available for this Tuesday, April 25 event at ECChangemakers17.eventbrite.com.

The evening’s Keynote speaker is Angela Luna, a graduate of Parsons School of Art and Design and CEO of Adiff, a socially-conscious fashion startup that aims to provide clothing and aid to refugees in need. Previously, Luna has presented a TED Talk where she challenges the narrative of the fashion industry as being disconnected from global issues, and instead demonstrates its role as a movement for change.

In addition to an inspiring keynote, the event will feature a panel discussion on the topic of ‘breaking barriers’, featuring female executives from a wide range of industries and professions, including Amber Heinbockel, Endicott Alum (class of 2007) and Sr. Product Designer at Google. Other panelists include:

  • Shannon Gath - VP, Chief of Staff, & Head of Enterprise Program Management Office at Fidelity Investments
  • Tracey Noonan & Dani Vilagie - Co-founders of Wicked Good Cupcakes
  • Kate Hogan - Director of Consulting & Events at Fenway Sports Management
  • Catherine Klapperich - Associate Dean for Research in the College of Engineering & the Director of the NIBIB POCTRN Center for Future Technologies in Cancer Care (CFTCC) at Boston University
  • Christine O’Neill - Assistant Special Agent in Charge at FBI Boston.

EC Changemakers was launched in 2016 by  Endicott’s Women in LEADership organization with a dual purpose: to honor the Legacy of Endicott's Founder, Dr Eleanor Tupper, and to recognize Endicott as a pioneer in educating women with the tools and practical experience to progress in the workforce with confidence.

“Last year’s sold out conference was so well received due to the participation of the many influential leaders from the Greater Boston business community that we had to move to a bigger venue,” said organizer Catherine Butler, Assistant Professor Experiential Learning and School of Business Internship Coordinator at Endicott College. “Our goal is to be a convener of inspirational Changemakers and bring visibility to Endicott as a diverse, inclusive and entrepreneurial community.”

The Changemakers Conference will take place on Tuesday, April 25 from 5:30pm-9:00pm in the Misselwood Tent on the Endicott College campus. Dinner will be included. To purchase tickets please visit ECChangemakers17.eventbrite.com. Social media channels will document the evening using the #ECChangemakers hashtag.
