Women in LEADership Host Successful Changemakers Conference
April 27, 2016 - Recently, the newly founded Women in LEADership Organization solidified their place on the Endicott College campus with a groundbreaking event. The EC Changemakers Conference, hosted at Tupper Manor, brought together students, influential leaders, and the Endicott community for a night of learning and inspiration.
The event was designed to honor the legacy of Dr. Eleanor Tupper who founded Endicott College in 1939 as a college for women. Dr. Tupper had a vision to create opportunities for women to advance in the workplace. The college has long envisioned a conference like this, with over 120 diverse attendees. Students from Endicott and other local colleges, faculty, alumni, outside professionals, and dynamic speakers came together to inspire the next generation of leaders to excel in their chosen industries.
Keynote speakers that opened and closed the night were Nancy Frates, ALS Advocate instrumental in the creation of the Ice Bucket Challenge, and Libby Moore, Endicott graduate and former Chief of Staff to Oprah Winfrey. Both women brought their A-game to the stage where they shared stories and provided the audience with powerful lessons on embracing change, learning from every decision, and finding the next step forward. Their insights were powerful, honest, and inspiring.
