Endicott College presents MassACDA 2016 Intercollegiate Choral Festival: Purcell and More!

February 25, 2016- Endicott College proudly announces the collaboration of area college choirs for the 22nd Annual Massachusetts American Choral Directors Association Intercollegiate Choral Festival featuring 125 singers from Endicott College, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, The University of Massachusetts Boston, Curry College, Merrimack College and the Boston City Singers. The performance will be at 7:00 PM on Saturday, March 5, 2016 in the Wax Auditorium in the Wax Academic Center at Endicott College, 376 Hale Street, Beverly. Tickets are $10 to the General Admission and Free to EC ID holders and can be purchased at www.endicott.edu/centerforthearts or by calling (978) 998-7700.

 

The schools’ choirs will spend all day Saturday studying choral pieces and vocal technique with clinicians from the American Choral Director’s Association. At the culminating concert, each group will perform their own repertoire and then form a combined chorus for Purcell’s work, O Come Ye Sons of Art, conducted by Dr. William Cutter and featuring soloists and instrumentalists from The Boston Conservatory of Music and the Endicott College Chamber Ensemble. Dr. Cutter is a conductor at MIT, The Boston Conservatory and is Interim Director of the Boston Symphony Orchestra’s chorus, The Tanglewood Festival Chorus.

 

The Endicott Singers, led by Becca Kenneally, will perform works of Brahms, Bestor and a surprise piece regarding a famous George Lucas film series set in outer space.
