  • Gratitude and Excitement for What’s Ahead: A Message from President Bryan Cain

    Monday, March 2, 2026

    Dear Endicott Community,

Nearly nine years ago, stepping onto our oceanside campus brought me an immediate sense of belonging and awe; the same feeling so many recall from their first days at Endicott. The potential of this institution was unmistakable then, and that conviction has only strengthened over time. While my role has changed, what makes Endicott extraordinary remains constant.

I am profoundly humbled that the Board of Trustees has appointed me as Endicott’s eighth president. To serve an institution that has become home is an extraordinary honor, and one I receive with deep gratitude and sense of responsibility. As a fellow alumnus who earned a Ph.D. from Endicott, this moment carries special meaning and reinforces a deep, enduring commitment to our mission.

As a first-generation college graduate, the transformative power of education is not an abstract idea; it is a lived experience. Higher education changes family trajectories, opens doors once thought sealed, and instills the confidence to imagine a broader future. That belief continues to shape the work ahead.

The compassion and resilience I learned from my family continue to shape how I lead. But this is not about me. It is about us. Every day, I see those same qualities across our campus, along with creativity, innovation, and the dedication of our students, faculty, and staff. That is what makes Endicott a place people are proud to call home.

Our shared future is rooted in the people who animate this campus each day: students whose curiosity and ambition energize our classrooms and residence halls; faculty and staff whose mentorship and expertise shape lives; alumni and friends who extend Endicott’s impact across industries and communities worldwide.

Since 1939, Endicott has been defined by experiential learning and the strength of a close-knit community. As we look ahead, the mission remains our North Star: preparing graduates to lead in an ever-changing world. That preparation demands experience, resilience, and a deep sense of belonging; principles that will continue to guide institutional priorities and strategic decisions.

The opportunity before us is significant. Progress will come from honoring our roots while boldly pursuing innovation. Together, this community will ensure that Endicott continues not only to grow, but to lead.

This next chapter will be grounded in openness, presence, and partnership. Leadership at Endicott will prioritize visibility, accessibility, and authentic engagement. Listening—to students, faculty, staff, alumni, parents, and friends—will remain central to shaping decisions and measuring progress. Our shared future depends on honest dialogue, mutual respect, and collective resolve.

The work ahead is important. The community is strong. And together, the future is bright.

    Sincerely,

  • Moving Forward Together: A Message from Interim President Bryan Cain

    Monday, October 27, 2025

    Dear Endicott Community,

Last week, you received messages from Dr. DiSalvo and Melissa Hempstead ’69, Chair of the Board of Trustees, regarding the College’s leadership transition. I want to begin by expressing my deep gratitude to Dr. DiSalvo for his years of service and dedication to Endicott—and for his confidence in me as a leader. It is an honor to help guide this seamless transition as the Board determines the College’s next chapter.

I am profoundly grateful to Melissa, the Board of Trustees, and the many faculty, staff, and students who have placed their trust in me during the time I have served as acting president and now as interim president.

Endicott is more than an institution; it is a dynamic, close-knit community rooted in experiential learning, student success, and a spirit of innovation that sets us apart. To serve as interim president of a college so well-positioned for defining growth is both a privilege and a responsibility I take to heart.

Since the start of this year, I have been intentional about connecting across every corner of our community—meeting with faculty and deans to discuss strategy, engaging with students throughout campus, listening to our dedicated staff at events and meetings, and hearing from alumni whose impact continues to elevate the Endicott name worldwide.

These conversations have only deepened my belief that our collective strength—our ingenuity, our creativity, and our shared purpose—is what drives this institution forward. Your confidence in my leadership during this time of transition inspires me daily, and I will continue to seek your insight and ideas as we navigate this period together.

The foundation of Endicott College remains firm: an unwavering commitment to academic excellence, transformative learning, and preparing graduates who make a meaningful difference in the world.

As we look to the future, I am energized by the opportunities ahead. We will continue investing in our extraordinary people, expanding our reach to new students, and ensuring that every decision we make—guided by data and mission—strengthens Endicott’s long-term vitality.

We also know that even the strongest institutions must adapt to an evolving landscape. Challenges around affordability, disruption, and sustainability are real—but so too is our capacity to meet them. We will face them together, as one community—drawing on the expertise of our faculty, the dedication of our staff, the energy of our students, and the insight of our alumni and trustees. Our history shows that collaboration is the cornerstone of our success, and it will continue to guide our way forward.

In the coming weeks, I will be meeting with faculty, students, staff, alumni, and trustees to ensure we sustain our momentum and lay a strong foundation for the next president—whoever that may be. Your partnership in this effort will be invaluable as we continue to advance Endicott’s mission and secure its bright future.

As always, my door and inbox are open—if there are any questions that I can answer, big or small, easy or hard, please don’t hesitate to reach out, come to my office, or stop me on the sidewalk.

    Sincerely,

    Bryan Cain signature
