Patrick R. Leary, Ed.D. is a Professor of Sport Management at Dean College and an adjunct faculty member in Endicott College’s Master of Sport Leadership Program. He holds a Doctor of Education in Higher Education Administration from Northeastern University and a Master of Sport Administration from Canisius University. His professional experience spans more than 20 years in sport management, athletic administration, marketing, leadership, and higher education, including leadership roles at Dean College, Johnson & Wales University, Providence College, and Boston College.
Leary’s academic and professional interests include sport leadership, organizational leadership, sport management, athletic administration, sports marketing, experiential learning, and the development of emerging sport industry professionals. At Dean College, he serves as Program Coordinator for Sport Management and Athletic Coaching & Recreation Management, where he teaches courses across sport management, coaching, marketing, and leadership and develops experiential learning opportunities with industry partners.
At Endicott, Leary teaches in the Master of Sport Leadership Program and serves on the program’s Sport Leadership Graduate Advisory Board. His teaching and mentoring philosophy emphasizes connecting leadership theory with real-world application and preparing students to become thoughtful, ethical, and effective leaders in the evolving sport industry.
