Hosted by
Rich Nastasi, Professor in the School of Sport Science and
Kara Schaefer, Clinical Coordinator for Exercise Science.
The shows’ premise is quite simple. One genre or musical topic each show, songs are discussed by Kara (Now) and Rich (Then). There will be many guests along the way from EC and beyond. After every show an extended playlist will be included on this site!

Music is easy and hard nowadays! I was an undergrad (class of 1979) when dinosaurs ruled the Earth. I remember when shared music was a way to meet people. Large speakers hung out of dorm windows with a menagerie of sounds rolling down the street. New music, new people, new ideas! Now you share playlists. So convenient but I really miss the speakers out of the windows. More about that later.

Music is the lifeblood of cultures, societies, friend groups, family gatherings – you name it! I have always loved music and find that it is engrained in some of my core memories. It is something that everyone can connect to on a physical, emotional, and spiritual level. Now and Then: Desert Island Music is meant to be a celebration of our and our guests’ favorite genres of music to share with you listeners and share stories along the way.
