Snow Emergency & Removal Policy
Winter in New England means possible snow storms—maybe a nor’easter or two. Such inclement weather may lead to a campus emergency or school closing and you’ll want to know all related information as quickly as possible.
The best way for you to stay informed is with EC Alerts—our text-based mass notification system. EC Alerts will often lead you to this webpage, where we will post additional information as needed.
Here is helpful information to review in the event that the Endicott College Department of Public Safety & Police declares a snow emergency. Depending on the storm severity, we have different snow emergency procedures as follows:
When a Snow Emergency is Declared
All vehicles must be removed from Snow Emergency spaces immediately. Snow emergency parking spaces are designated with blue paint instead of yellow. Snow Emergency Signage with arrows indicating which direction parking is prohibited is also posted in these areas. Be mindful that not every individual snow emergency spot has a sign posted. There is no parking throughout the snow emergency in any parking space painted blue or designated by signage. There will be an active tow truck on campus during this time period. Any vehicle within these spaces will be ticketed and towed at the owner’s expense.
Parking is prohibited in these spaces until the Snow Emergency has been lifted. A campus map detailing where these spaces are located can be found posted in each residence hall. For further assistance please contact the Department of Public Safety & Police.
Stage 1: Move
Parking lot clearings will begin immediately in stages.During this time period certain parking lots are closed for snow removal. Follow the procedures below for stage 1 move to see if you are currently parked in a closed lot. If you are parked in a closed lot you must immediately move your vehicle to one of the open available lots listed below. All vehicles must also be removed from Snow Emergency spots throughout campus and into open parking lots immediately. Closed lots will remain closed for the duration of the storm. When the storm is over, we will begin the next round of staged lot clearings. Monitor your emails and EC alerts for the next staged lot clearing.
