Alumni: Join Endicott’s Virtual Book Club & Kick Off Your Summer Reading List Early

Get those beach reads ready by joining Endicott College’s Office of Alumni Relations’ virtual book club this spring. The book club, open to all alumni, begins on June 10 with Educated, a New York Times best-selling memoir written by Tara Westover.

The book club is a great opportunity to reconnect with former classmates and Gulls who you’ve lost touch with—or who don’t live close enough for an in-person book club. Since the club is completely virtual, members can participate on their own time, from anywhere in the world, and engage as much or as little as they’d like. Cover for book 'Educated'

Over the course of a year, members will read a total of six popular books that are relevant to the group, including memoirs and personal growth stories. Members will also be surveyed to help select each book after the first read, Educated. While members are responsible for purchasing a copy of each book, they will have the ability to opt-out of specific books if it isn’t of interest or perhaps they’ve already read. Once that book is complete, they can opt back in to join the conversation surrounding the next read.

Alumna, Tina Zarella ’00, shares, “The virtual book club is a great opportunity to bring alumni together to share their ideas and thoughts as they journey through a book. It is a forum to connect and interact with other alumni on an intellectual level. We can see the perspectives of different people and different cultures. The more perspective we gain, the more we learn and grow.”

Endicott’s virtual book club will have its own account manager who will lead discussions, share supplemental content that ties into the real world and relates to the specific read, as well as share the reading schedule for each book.

The virtual book club is complimentary. If you are an alumna/alumnus and are interested in joining, visit pbc.guru/endicott.
