Chris McDaniel
Profile
I was born and raised in Vancouver, WA (near Portland, OR). I was an undergraduate at University of Washington and I received my Bachelors of Science degree from there in 2003. I was a graduate student at University of Massachusetts Amherst and I received Ph.D. from there in 2010 under the guidance of Dr. Tom Braden. I was a visiting Assistant Professor at Rose Hulman Institute of Technology in Terre Haute, IN during the academic year 2010-2011. I have been an Assistant Professor at Endicott College since August 2011. My mathematical expertise lies at the intersection of algebraic/symplectic topology, combinatorics, and discrete geometry. However my mathematical interests are broad: I always enjoy hearing about anything mathematical, and I am always on the lookout for mathematical nuggets. Outside of mathematics, I enjoy cycling, hiking, solving puzzles, and playing games of strategy, e.g chess, hex. I would classify myself as a cat person, but in general I enjoy the company of anything with a face.
