The National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreement (NC-SARA) is a private nonprofit organization [501(c)(3)] that helps expand students’ access to educational opportunities and ensure more efficient, consistent, and effective regulation of distance education programs. States that wish to become members of SARA apply to their regional education compact for approval. Endicott College is approved to participate in and operate under the terms and standards of SARA through the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

Institutions offering distance education must clearly identify which programs and courses are required for professional licensure. For state-specific licensure information, please select your desired program from the list below.

For information about requirements in the state for which you seek licensure, please see the state contact list provided by NC-SARA.

Education

The Education Program at Endicott College includes coursework that may lead to professional licensure in Early Childhood Teacher, Elementary Teacher, Secondary Teacher, Reading Specialist, Severe Disabilities, Moderate Disabilities (PreK-8 or 5-12) in Massachusetts. Licensure requirements vary by state. While SARA facilitates interstate distance education, it does not override individual state regulations regarding professional licensing. Therefore:

  • Endicott College cannot guarantee that its education program meets the teacher licensure or certification requirements for all states.
  • Students who intend to seek licensure outside of Massachusetts should consult the respective State Department of Education to confirm compliance with local licensure requirements.
  • Endicott College provides guidance and resources to assist students in understanding licensure pathways in their respective states.
