Kent Barclay is the Associate Dean of Academic Technology at Endicott College. In that role, he promotes and oversees the use and support of technology for teaching and learning. Part of his responsibilities include the oversight of the computer labs, academic software licensing, classroom technology, technology training, MyEndicott, the campus web portal, Canvas the campus learning management systems, BigBlueButton, the campus synchronous web conferencing and virtual classroom technology and YuJa, a cloud based media storage, distribution and management system. He works closely with faculty and Deans to integrate technology into the curriculum.
Mr. Barclay has a BA in Communications from the University of Massachusetts/ Amherst and an MEd in Organizational Management from Endicott College, where the title of his master’s thesis was “Reasons and Methods for Implementing Distance Learning Programs in Higher Education”. He has worked in academic technology and media for close to 25 years, at Bradford College and Emerson College prior to his arrival at Endicott in 2000. Prior to his years in higher education, Mr. Barclay worked as a professional videographer, producer, director and editor with several video production companies, including his own, in Boston.
