    These scholarships are available for undergraduate students. 

    Please make sure to read through the requirements for each scholarship before applying.

    Scholarship America Dream Award

    Students who have completed at least a year of college can earn Dream Award scholarships of $5,000 to $15,000 per year, renewable for up to three years. If you’re at least 17, you have a U.S. high school diploma (or equivalent), and you have completed at least one year of college, trade or technical school, you’re invited to apply when applications open again in August 2022.  

    AKA Educational Advancement Foundation

    The AKA Educational Advancement Foundation manages various scholarships, each with their own eligibility criteria. Please visit their website for detailed information about each scholarship opportunity.

    Stephen Phillips Memorial Scholarship Fund

    The Stephen Phillips Memorial Scholarship Fund is for permanent residents of New England states, with financial need, who display academic achievement, a commitment to serving others, a strong work ethic and leadership qualities. Must be pursuing a bachelor's degree (associate does not qualify) and have a 3.0 GPA or higher.

    Barry Goldwater Scholarship

    The Barry Goldwater Foundation Scholarship is to support juniors and seniors with excellent academic records and demonstrated interest in and potential for research careers in mathematics, the natural sciences, and engineering. Scholar must be a full-time student and is taking a course of study, training, or other educational activities to prepare for a research career in mathematics, the natural sciences, or engineering.

    MSCPA Scholarships

    The Massachusetts Society of CPA's manages various scholarships, each with their own eligibility criteria. Scholarships awards range from $2,500–$10,000, and are available for undergraduate accounting students who are earning at least nine credits at a Massachusetts college or university. Students who are residents of Massachusetts and attending an out-of-state college are also eligible to apply.

    Reading Scholarship Foundation

    The Reading Scholarship Foundation provides financial assistance to students who are continuing their education full-time. Scholarships are available to any Reading, MA resident who is currently a high school senior, and any Reading resident who is currently enrolled as a college freshman, sophomore, or junior and who will be enrolled full-time next year, and any non-Reading, MA resident who is a senior at Reading Memorial High School that has been enrolled as a full-time student for a period of at least three years.

    Science, Mathematics, and Research for Transformation (SMART) Scholarship-for-Service Program 

    The Science, Mathematics, and Research for Transformation (SMART) Scholarship-for-Service Program is an opportunity for students pursuing a bachelor’s, master’s, or Ph.D. in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) disciplines to receive a full scholarship and guaranteed civilian employment with the Department of Defense upon degree completion.

    Power Your Education and First Generation Scholarship Programs

    RSM Foundation is pleased to continue their Power Your Education scholarship program. The RSM US Foundation will again award ten students with a $10,000 scholarship each, an invitation to an RSM information session, and an interview with the firm for a future internship. The RSM Foundation is also continuing their First Generation Scholarship program. The RSM US Foundation will again award five students with up to $30,000 each in scholarships, paid $10,000 annually over three consecutive academic years.

    Early Childhood Educators (ECE) Scholarship

    The Early Childhood Educators Scholarship is designed to provide financial assistance for currently employed early childhood and out of school time educators and providers who enroll in an associate, bachelor's, or master's degree program in Early Childhood Education or related programs.

    Paraprofessional Grant

    The Paraprofessional Teacher Preparation Grant program provides financial assistance to Massachusetts residents who are currently employed as paraprofessionals in Massachusetts public schools, but wish to become certified as full time teachers.

    These scholarships and grants are geared specifically toward students who are currently working in or studying to work in the art, culinary, and hospitality fields.

    NEWH, Inc. Scholarships

    The NEWH, Inc. Scholarships were created to promote scholarship, education, and interest within the Hospitality Industry. Multiple scholarships available in areas of Interior Design, Hospitality Management, Culinary, Architecture, Senior Living, etc. Most scholarship awards are $5,000 or more.

    Reading Scholarship Foundation

    The Reading Scholarship Foundation provides financial assistance to students who are continuing their education full-time. Scholarships are available to any Reading, MA resident who is currently a high school senior, and any Reading resident who is currently enrolled as a college freshman, sophomore, or junior and who will be enrolled full-time next year, and any non-Reading, MA resident who is a senior at Reading Memorial High School that has been enrolled as a full-time student for a period of at least three years. 

    Boston Neighborhoods

    City of Cambridge Scholarship Fund

    Through the Scholarship Fund Program, the city of Cambridge awards scholarship dollars to college-bound high school seniors in pursuit of a post-secondary education. Applicants must be Cambridge residents who are attending, have received admittance to, or have an application pending at an accredited post-secondary education institution.

    City of Boston Scholarship

    The City of Boston Scholarship application is open to new and returning college students attending a college or university in Massachusetts and who demonstrate financial need. Applicants must be a Boston resident for a least two years.

    Young Professionals Network (YPN) of the Urban League of Eastern Massachusetts

    The YPN of the Urban League of Eastern Massachusetts awards its I AM EMPOWERED scholarship to individuals in the Greater Boston and Eastern Massachusetts areas who are empowering their community and who are committed to professional and leadership development. Young adult applicants must be a current high school senior or GED recipient who has been accepted into an accredited associate or bachelor's program and has a GPA of 3.00 or higher. Young professional applicants must be accepted or currently enrolled in an accredited associate, bachelor's, or master’s program and have a GPA of a 3.0 or higher.

    Madison Park Development Corporation (MPDC) Scholarships

    The Ralph D. Smith Community Service Scholarship is available to students who have demonstrated community service in the Madison Park Village and Lower Roxbury areas. This scholarship awards up to $5,000 per year for four years.

    The Danette Jones Scholarship awards up to $1,000 on a one-time basis to residents of the greater Madison Park community. Applicants must be enrolled full-time as a high school senior with plans to enter college no later than the fall following graduation and be committed to pursuing an associate or bachelor’s degree.

    The Haynes Family Scholarship awards up to $5,000 for enrollment in a certificate program and up to $10,000 for enrollment in a two or four-year college. Applicants must be a resident of the City of Boston, have a GED, Hi-Set, or a high school diploma, and demonstrate present involvement in community service and affiliation with Madison Park Development Cooperation.

    Alray Scholars Program - Boston Public Schools Network

    The Alrays Scholars Program is a Boston-based organization that focuses on giving deserving students who have taken time off a second chance at college. The organization awards scholars up to $5,000 in financial assistance and also provides recipients with a mentor to guide them toward degree completion.

  • Students of Color

    These scholarships are geared toward people of color.

    *Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) recipients are eligible.
     

    Boston Pearl Foundation Inc.*

    The Boston Pearl Foundation awards scholarships to Massachusetts residents who identify as a student of color. Applicants must be high school seniors applying for fall admissions to an accredited four-year college or university.

    LULAC National Scholarship Fund (LNSF)*

    LNSF applicants must be a U.S. citizen, legal permanent resident, or be granted Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA). Undergraduate applicants must be applying as a full-time student to a 2-year college, vocational school that leads to an associate degree, or a 4-year college or university. Graduate students must be applying as a part-time student in a college or university.

    The Gates Scholarship

    The Gates Scholarship (TGS) is a highly selective, last-dollar scholarship for
    outstanding, minority, high school seniors from low-income households. Each year, the
    scholarship is awarded to exceptional student leaders, with the intent of helping them
    realize their maximum potential.

    Gates Millenium Scholarships

    The Gates Millennium Scholars (GMS) Program, funded by a grant from the Bill &
    Melinda Gates Foundation, was established in 1999 to provide outstanding African
    American, American Indian/Alaska Native*, Asian Pacific Islander American**, and
    Hispanic American students with an opportunity to complete an undergraduate college
    education in any discipline area of interest.

    Asian and Pacific Islander American Scholars (APIA) Scholarship Program

    The APIA Scholarship is our largest scholarship program, open to AANHPI
    undergraduate students attending any U.S. accredited university or college. Scholarship
    amounts range from $2,500 one-year awards to $20,000 multi-year awards. APIA
    Scholars has a special focus on supporting AANHPI students who live at or below the
    poverty line; are in the first generation of their family to attend college; are
    representative of the APIA community’s diversity, (geographically and ethnically},
    especially those ethnicities that have been underrepresented on college campuses due
    to limited access and opportunity. Strong applicants would also have an emphasis on
    community service and leadership.

    American Indian College Fund

    The American Indian College Fund provides scholarships to American Indian and
    Alaska Native college students enrolled in certificate, undergraduate, or graduate
    program at tribal colleges and other nonprofit, accredited schools.

    La Unidad Latina Foundation - Scholarships for Undergraduate and Graduate
    Latino Students

    It is reported that 74% of Latino students enrolled in colleges and universities in the U.S.
    cut their education short due to the financial pressures of supporting their families. We
    want to make sure all students who start college, finish college by providing
    scholarships directly to the students when they need it most. Our annual national
    scholarship program for undergraduate and graduate Latino students awards grants
    ranging from $500 to $2,000 per recipient to lessen the financial burden.

    National Society of High School Scholars (NSHSS) Diversity Scholarship

    NSHSS will award $2,000 to five (5) high school sophomore, junior, or senior students
    who have demonstrated a commitment to expanding the diversity and inclusion
    initiatives in their school, community, or workplace.

    Visa Black Scholars and Jobs Program

    The Visa Black Scholars and Jobs Program, in partnership with the Thurgood Marshall
    College Fund (TMCF), is a program designed for college-bound Black and African
    American students in the United States. Eligible high school seniors applying or
    intending to pursue a business or technology undergraduate degree at any four-year
    accredited college or university in the U.S. can receive a needs-based scholarship grant
    of up to $20,000/year. opportunities to grow their key technical, professional and
    leadership skills.

  • Ineligible for Federal Student Aid

    These scholarships are available for students who do not meet the requirements for Federal Student Aid.

    (No citizenship requirements)

    City of Boston Scholarship

    The City of Boston Scholarship application is open to new and returning college students attending a college or university in Massachusetts and who demonstrate financial need. Applicants must be a Boston resident for a least two years.

    Scholarships for Undoc Students

    College Green Light has created a blog list of third-party scholarships for students without full citizenship. Endicott College does not manage this list, so please use discretion while researching here.

    Boston Pearl Foundation Inc.

    The Boston Pearl Foundation awards scholarships to Massachusetts residents who identify as a student of color. Applicants must be high school seniors applying for fall admissions to an accredited four-year college or university.

    Jack Cooke Kent Scholarship Program

    The Cooke College Scholarship Program offers scholarships to high-achieving high school seniors seeking to attend a four-year college or university and demonstrate financial need.

  • Unconventional Application Process

    Some of these scholarships incorporate the creative process into their applications by asking for video submissions, digital content, etc; Others ask for volunteer work.

    Most of these do not require an essay.

    Some of these require the permission of applicants for the donors to use the content you created as marketing materials. As always, please read the requirements and submission guidelines carefully. 

    Niche’s "No Essay" Scholarship

    The “No Essay” Scholarship is open to all high school and college students, as well as anyone looking to attend college or graduate school in the next year. Scholarship winners are selected monthly and will be determined by a random drawing.

    College Board Opportunity Scholarships

    Ideal for the first-time college student, the Opportunity Scholarships reward the effort you put into the college application process. Each step you complete toward the process puts you in the running toward a scholarship. If you complete all six steps, you have the opportunity to earn $40,000.
