Programs of Study
Our philosophy is to incorporate practical hands on experience with an intensive educational curriculum containing the necessary competencies and proficiencies established by the NATA Education Council. Students enroll in major courses early in the program to create a strong foundation to master upper level competencies and to strengthen and refine clinical skills.
The major in Exercise Science addresses the short and long-term adaptations to exercise and prepares students for careers in a variety of fields including: Fitness or Recreation, Hospital or Corporate Wellness, Strength and Conditioning.
Physical Education Teacher Licensure
The Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education Teacher Licensure prepares students for careers as Physical Education Teachers, Recreational Sport Organizers and Health and Fitness Club Professionals. The curriculum meets the standards required by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE). Upon completion of the program students can apply for licensure to teach physical education at two levels: Pre-K through grade 8 and grades 5 through 12. Students can also complete the requirements to be credentialed to teach health. The curriculum meets the Adapted Physical Education National Standards (APENS) and upon graduation students are eligible to sit for the APENS certification exam to be credentialed as a nationally certified Adapted Physical Educator (CAPE).
The Sport Management program at Endicott College provides our students with combined theoretical and practical experiences that allow individuals the opportunity to foster an understanding of and appreciation for the sport industry.
The Coaching Certificate is open to all students at Endicott College. Students who wish to become certified in coaching by the School of Sport Science and Fitness Studies must complete an application to be admitted to the program.
