Incoming Fall 2026 First-Year Students and Returning students:
The FAFSA Simplification Act expands eligibility for federal financial aid. It streamlines the financial aid application process for students and families and provides a better user experience in completing the form. It also reduces completion barriers for certain student populations.
The 2026-2027 FAFSA was made available on October 1, 2025 and can be completed.
Students and Parents will need a Federal Student Aid ID (FSA ID) to complete the FAFSA. Families can create their FSA IDs now. A parent or spouse without a Social Security Number will be able to get an FSA ID. FSA IDs can be created on the Federal Student Aid website.
For more information about how to fill out the FAFSA form, you can visit the Federal Student Aid website.
Spring 2027 Transfer Students:
The 2026-2027 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is available and must be completed if you wish to be considered for all federal, state, and institutional need-based financial aid for Spring 2027. This form is used as a guide to building a student's need-based financial aid package, including grants, work-study, and Stafford Loans. For the 2026-2027 academic year you will be using your 2024 tax information to complete the FAFSA. If you and your parents have filed 2024 taxes, you should be able to use Direct Data Exchange in order to import the 2024 tax data into your FAFSA.
