Application Requirements for all doctoral programs

Doctoral applicants are required to have earned a master’s degree from an accredited college or university. Candidates for the doctoral program must apply to Endicott College using the online application.

General application requirements for all doctoral programs include:

Submission of:

  • Completed online application and non-refundable $50 application fee (check made payable to Endicott College). Application fee waived for Endicott Alumni and veteran & military students.
  • Three letters of recommendation. Letters should address the student’s scholarly potential.
  • Official transcripts of all post-secondary academic work should be sent directly from the institution(s) including confirmation of undergraduate degree, date confirmed, and any other graduate work. Please submit all official electronic transcripts to gradadmissions@endicott.edu
  • Current resume or CV
  • Interview with program director or dean

Additional Program Specific Doctoral Degree Admission Requirements

Applied Behavioral Analysis Program (Doctor of Philosophy)

Personal Statement: An original 5-10 page (double-spaced, 12 pt. font) personal statement should address the following questions.

  1. What relevant knowledge, skills, and experiences will you contribute to your doctoral study?
  2. In what ways will doctoral study support your academic, professional, and/or personal goals?
  3. What would be your ideal apprenticeship and why?

Writing Sample: In addition to the personal statement, doctoral applicants are asked to submit a short paper (limit 10 pages), double-spaced, in APA format, responding to the following question: What are the most critical challenges facing Behavior Analysts today?

The writing sample will be evaluated for evidence of: thoughtful analysis, ability to develop main points and support claims, focus and organization, academic style, use of sentence variety and vocabulary to convey meaning clearly, control of sentence structure, language, grammar, and punctuation.

Educational Leadership in Higher Education Administration (Doctor of Education)

Personal statement: An original 5-10 page (double-spaced, 12 pt. font, APA formatted) personal statement that addresses the following question. Please use academic sources to support your claims.

  • Choose a contemporary challenge in higher education and provide a research-based synthesis of this issue integrating a personal narrative.

Educational Leadership in Pre-K–12 (Doctor of Education) 

Personal statement: An original 5-10 page (double-spaced, 12 pt. font, APA formatted) personal statement that addresses the following question. Please use academic sources to support your claims.

  • Choose a contemporary challenge in pre-K–12 education and provide a research-based synthesis of this issue integrating a personal narrative.

Nursing Program (Doctor of Philosophy)

Personal statement: An original 5-10 page (double-spaced, 12 pt. font, APA formatted) personal statement that addresses the following questions. Please use academic sources to support your claims.

  • What relevant knowledge, skills, and experiences will you contribute to your doctoral study?
  • In what ways will doctoral study support your academic, professional and/or personal goals?
  • What would be your ideal apprenticeship and why?
  • What are the most critical challenges facing nurses today?

Nursing applicants are also required to submit a photocopy of their Registered Nurse License Verification, which must be current and unrestricted.

Nursing Program (Doctor of Nursing Practice, DNP)

Personal statement: An original 500-700 word document (double-spaced, 12 pt. font, APA formatted) that addresses the following questions. Please use academic sources to support your claims.

  • What relevant knowledge, skills, and experiences will you contribute to your doctoral study?
  • Describe an area of interest and your potential plans for a scholarly project. 

Nursing applicants are also required to submit a photocopy of their Registered Nurse License Verification, which must be current and unrestricted.
