Endicott College to Host Annual Parent Autism Conference on April 13

BEVERLY, Mass. – On Saturday, April 13, 2019, the Institute for Behavioral Studies at Endicott College’s Van Loan School will host a free conference with workshops designed for families of individuals diagnosed with autism and board-certified behavior analyst (BCBA) professionals:

The conference will feature keynote speaker Shannon Penrod, who will deliver a talk titled, “Surviving and Thriving with Children on the Autism Spectrum.” Penrod is the host and producer of the weekly radio show Everyday Autism Miracles, as well as an award-winning stand-up comedienne, director, and author who aims to provide families with information and hope on their journey through autism.

The Parent Autism Conference will include a light breakfast and several workshops, with topics including coping strategies, planning for adolescent and adult issues in ASD, understanding and intervening with challenging behavior, toilet training, everyday communication, leisure skills, engagement, and selective feeding problems. The event’s co-sponsors are Autism Partnership, Bridgewell, the Behavior Development Group, Creative Behavior Solutions, the May Institute, Northeast Arc, and Road to Responsibility, Inc.
