Nurse Pinning Ceremony
Van Loan Nursing graduates will receive their nursing pins in a special ceremony on Wednesday, May 1, 2019 in the Chapel. A reception will follow.
A reception will be held for graduating international students, study abroad participants, international peer mentors and their families on Friday, May 24, 2019 at 5:30 p.m. at the Misselwood House.
Information for all graduating students
Van Loan School Commencement will be held on Thursday, May 23, 2019 promptly at 5 p.m. The event will be held outdoors at the Hempstead Stadium. Guest seating will open at 4 p.m., by 4:45 p.m. all guests must be seated. Your eight color-coded tickets are available for field seating, additional seating will be available in the bleachers.
Graduates must arrive no later than 3:30 p.m. and gather in the MacDonald Gymnasium, located in the Post Center. Van Loan staff will assist in the lineup. The College requests guests' cooperation in remaining outside the student robing area.
While we anticipate that the ceremony will be held at the stadium - rain or shine - in extreme weather conditions, the ceremony may be moved to the Post Center Field House. Two dark green tickets will be available for indoor seating.
Additional guests may watch the ceremony simulcast live at the Endicott Auditorium in the Wax Center and in other locations on campus. The simulcast may also be viewed in high definition on ECTV Channel 73.1, as well as the Endicott College Commencement web page. Commencement Participation Policy
If you will be completing your degree in May 2019 and plan to participate in Commencement exercises, the Graduation Application must be filed no later than March 15! The Graduation Application is also available in hard copy at the Registrar's Office or the Student Affairs Office. The application must be completed whether or not you participate. It is necessary that we know whether or not you will be participating in the ceremony to ensure appropriate seating and prepare your diploma.
To receive your degree, you must have:
- Earned the correct number of credits required;
- Completed all additional requirements for your major and/or concentration;
- Earned the minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) for your degree and major; (see the Academic Catalog for minimum GPA for your major—2.00 is minimum for many undergraduate majors and 3.0 for graduate programs);
- If you are a master’s degree candidate, you must also have completed the comprehensive examination in your degree area (if required);
- If you are a doctoral degree candidate, you must have successfully defended and received approval signatures on your dissertation.
Student files will be audited to determine that all required documentation has been received and all financial obligations have been met.
A graduation fee of $200 is assessed for all students who qualify for a degree from Endicott College. This assessment covers a variety of items associated with Commencement, including degree audit, preparation of diploma and Commencement related ceremonies. The graduation fee is a mandatory requirement, regardless of participation in Commencement ceremonies or activities.

Caps and Gowns
For undergraduate and master’s degree graduates, the cost of regalia items is included in your graduation fee. Regalia will be available for pick up in the Endicott College Bookstore starting May 1. The bookstore is located at the entrance to the Callahan Center. Store hours are Monday-Thursday: 9 a.m.- 6 p.m.; Friday: 9: a.m. - 5 p.m.; and Saturday: 11 a.m. - 2 p.m.
If you are unable to pick up your items at the campus bookstore, you may request them be shipped to you for a $10 shipping and handling fee. Request for shipping will only be accepted between April 1 and May 1 by email to email@example.com

The bookstore will contact you when your items arrive and will give you the option of picking them up at the bookstore or having them shipped for an additional $10 fee.
Announcements and Ceremony Tickets
Each participant in the Commencement ceremony will be able to pick up their Commencement packets, weekdays, between May 1 and May 15 from 9:30 a.m. – 5 p.m.
- Beverly-based and online graduates may pick up their packets at the Office of Student Affairs in the Lower Callahan.
- Boston-based graduates may pick up their packets at the Boston site, 200 Tremont Street, Boston.
You must present your Endicott College ID to receive your packet. You may not pick up any other students’ packets. If you are unable to pick up your packet in person, you may have the packet shipped by contacting Alicia Kessler, staff assistant, no later than May 1 at email@example.com, or 978-232-5261. The packet will include:
- Ten Commencement announcements *Note that these are not tickets
- Two color-coded field seating tickets (dark green)
- Six additional color-coded field seating tickets (light green). Note: If held inside, these additional tickets (light green) do not guarantee indoor seating.
During the Commencement ceremony, access to the stage area for picture taking or videotaping by guests will be limited to a designated area. Essex Commencement Photos will take student pictures as diplomas are received. The photographer will contact graduates in writing with specifics on ordering photographs along with the cost.
Stole of Gratitude
The Endicott Stole of Gratitude is a College tradition and a symbol of thanks. Worn during the Commencement ceremony, the stole carries the sincere appreciation by the graduate for someone who provided extraordinary help or support. Following the ceremony, the graduate presents the stole. Recipients include parents, relatives, or mentors – anyone who may have helped with wisdom, encouragement, or financial assistance. More than one stole may be worn during Commencement, symbolizing that there are many people in the graduate's life deserving of such a gift. The stoles are available in the Endicott Bookstore for $19.95 each.
Parking (General and Barrier Free)
General access parking will be directed to the off-site parking lot at North Shore Music Theatre at the address below where shuttles will provide transportation to and from campus throughout the day. Attendees are encouraged to use this lot first rather than attempting to find parking on campus.

Both on- and off-campus parking lots will be used for all commencement ceremonies. On-campus parking is available on a first come, first served basis. Please arrive early and carpool when possible. Officers will direct vehicles throughout the day. General access parking will be available through the East Gate (near Brindle Hall) and Stoneridge Lane (across from the Wylie Inn). No general access parking is available through the main gate which is reserved for VIP and Accessible parking which must be reserved in advance with this form. Accessible Parking Form).
Commencement Guest Information
Tickets: Only guests with tickets will be seated. Due to the high number of family and friends who will be attending the ceremony, seating will be based on a first come, first served basis. Standing room with a good view of the platform will be at a minimum. Please keep in mind that guests will not be permitted to stand in any of the walkways for safety reasons.Guests with Mobility Concerns: All guests with mobility concerns must fill out the Barrier-Free Form by May 10, 2019 to make appropriate arrangements. Specified barrier-free parking will be available for guests who have notified us according to the parking guidelines. Both field and bleacher seating are accessible for ticket holders. If guests must be accompanied, it must be with a ticket holder. There will be ASL interpreters at the ceremony. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
Campus Facilities: Restroom facilities are available in the Stadium Support building and the Post Center. Portable facilities are also conveniently located inside the stadium gates. Dining facilities will not be available during the ceremony, although a reception for graduates and families will be held at the Callahan Center immediately following Commencement.

Policies:Drones, alcoholic beverages, large bags, coolers and pets (except service animals) are prohibited from entering the stadium during the Commencement ceremony. If located, all bags, backpacks, and coolers (regardless of size) are subject to search and may be confiscated if contraband is found.
In the event of an emergency, or need for an evacuation at the stadium, audible announcements will be made via the PA system. On-site staff members will assist in directing persons to their appropriate evacuation routes, and/or rally points as necessary. See the included maps to view exit routes and rally points. Evacuation maps will also be posted throughout the Stadium and available with staff members.
In the event of that Commencement is canceled, graduates may be directed to pick up their diplomas in certain campus locations, which may be announced via the PA system.
