Profile
Amanda Shilo is originally from Melbourne, Australia, and moved to the U.S. in 2002. Her area of nursing expertise is in the PACU, where she practiced for 10 years, before commencing a career in nursing education. She strives to provide an active and engaged classroom environment, focused on student interaction. Dr Shilo has worked as a full time faculty member at Endicott College since 2019. She is chair of the School of Nursing Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Taskforce, a sitting member of the college wide DEI Taskforce, and a Safezone facilitator.

Awards and Accomplishments
Shilo received the Grace L. Nangle award for nursing excellence from the Eta Tau branch of the Sigma Theta Tau, the honor society of nursing, and was the recipient of two doctoral scholarships. She gave a TEDx talk in September 2018 at Salem State University entitled, "Hospital; we only need an ‘ity’ bit to be hospitality." The talk focused on the need to diversify the nursing workforce in order to better meet the needs of a diverse patient population.
