  1. Oversee Undergraduate College and School of Graduate and Professional Studies, International Education, Research and Assessment and new academic initiatives.

  2. Work collaboratively with the two academic vice presidents to help facilitate cooperation of the two separate components of the College.

  3. Provide leadership and oversight of academic operations, policy, curricula, teaching, assessment and learning to implement continuous improvements of learning.

  4. Chair/serve on a variety of committees, task forces and serves on President’s Council.

  5. Develop and monitor academic budgets.

  6. Work cooperatively with the Vice President and Dean of the Undergraduate College and the Vice President of the Van Loan School of Graduate and Professional Studies.

  7. Assist the senior staff, develop strategies and actions to enhance the whole College.


  • Doctorate and a significant record of teaching excellence, service, and scholarship required.

  • Demonstrated academic leadership, excellent communication, interpersonal skills and good judgment.

  • Ability to formulate and articulate sound policies and demonstrated ability to identify, resolve, and consult on a wide range of administrative and academic personnel issues with a clear sense of institutional needs and priorities.

  • Strong organizational and management skills.

  • Significant experience at the Vice President level, including experience in the development and administration of curriculum, budget, personnel, strategic planning, international education and the use of technology in higher education.
