Endicott College is seeking a part-time laboratory technician to work 25 hours/week, beginning immediately for the Fall 2018 semester. The laboratory technician will be based in the Ginger Judge Science Center which houses degree programs in Applied Mathematics, Bioengineering, Biology/Biotechnology, Computer Science, Engineering, and Environmental Science. The laboratory technician will work with the Dean of Arts and Sciences and Assistant Dean of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics, and oversee operation of six teaching laboratories, two preparation rooms, a tissue culture facility, DNA sequencing center, and associated instrumentation and research areas.

Duties include, but are not limited to, setting up and cleaning teaching laboratories; maintaining a current inventory of equipment and supplies; supervising student workers; logging and coordinating instrument usage; maintaining laboratory equipment and notifying supervisors of any service requirements; ensuring compliance with laboratory safety and hazardous waste regulations; coordinating the use of laboratory facilities by outside parties; and completing other tasks as assigned by the Assistant Dean for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics and Dean of Arts and Sciences.



Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Biotechnology, Bioengineering or other related field is required.  The position requires the individual to be highly organized; be able to multitask and manage people; and have strong technical, laboratory skills, and interpersonal skills.
