  1. Assist the Director of Network Services in managing and troubleshooting the Endicott College campus-wide data network.

  2. Act as primary wireless network administrator. 

  3. Assist in monitoring and managing policy for Network Security.

  4. Act as backup systems administrator for multiple network and applications servers; Web, DNS, DHCP, Domain Controllers, Intranet, Email, VPN/Firewall (SonicWall), Proxy, Administrative, Payroll, and other servers and applications.

  5. Provide support for campus Network Access Control (Campus Manager by Bradford Networks).

  6. Design, script and build network systems and related system interfaces.

  7. Serve as secondary point of contact for external network issues.

  8. Assist in the maintenance and repair of all network equipment and implement regular backups and updates on all network devices and systems.

  9. Install new network hardware/software.

  10. Monitor network usage.

  11. Prepare network documentation, training and guidance.

  12. Establish user profiles, user environments, directories and security for networks being installed.

  13. Responsible for monitoring and maintaining all devices on network.

  14. Act as backup Campus (Email) postmaster.

  15. Assist and mentor IT staff members in all aspects of network systems and applications and student support.

  16. Assist in coordinating and delivering user training in network applications.

  17. Assist students and staff as appropriate.

  18. Other duties as assigned.


Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related major, or an equivalent combination of education and experience required. Experience with internet working protocols including Ethernet, VPN, and Wireless (Avaya/Xirrus preferred); programming experience in C, PHP, Shell or Perl; and experience with relational databases is desired. Knowledge of servers with Active Directory, Linux and other Unix Operating systems desired. Working knowledge of switches, routers and servers – Nortel/Avaya or Extreme experience preferred. Experience with TCP/IP networking protocols required. Prior experience with network management software and protocols a plus. Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills are essential. Experience in a higher education environment preferred.
