Description

The School of Nursing at Endicott College invites applicants for a full-time administrative position as Director of the Ph.D. in Nursing Program. Successful candidates will provide leadership and oversight to the Ph.D. Program in Nursing, recruit prospective students, develop and monitor curriculum, recruit and orient faculty, advise students; seek external funding, pursue scholarship, teach courses, participate in the accreditation process, and pursue research. We are interested in hiring a dynamic nurse educator who has experience teaching in a Ph.D. program, a strong interest in educational excellence, and innovation to prepare nurse researchers of the future.
 
Responsibilities 
- Teach 2 courses per year 
- Provide leadership and oversight of the Ph.D. in Nursing Program
- Oversee and carry out the academic functions of the program including recruiting, mentoring, and evaluating teaching faculty, faculty advisors, and dissertation advisors.
- Develop and monitor curriculum of the doctoral program including assessment of student outcomes, course evaluations, curricular revisions, and semester review of syllabi and course scheduling.
- Oversee and participate in the advising of doctoral students including monitoring students’ satisfactory progress toward degrees. Build relationships with students through coaching, collaborating, and mentoring.
- Coordinate and serve on dissertation committees.
- Develop and implement a marketing plan for the Ph.D. program.
- Recruit prospective students.
- Prepare accreditation materials for the Ph.D. program and organize visits as required.
- Carry out the general administrative responsibilities of the Ph.D. program including oversight of the budget, faculty credentialing, and coordination of policies and procedures.
- Actively pursue professional academic scholarship.
- Actively participate in relevant professional organizations.
- Participate on Graduate Curriculum Committee, Graduate Admissions Committee and Graduate Director’s Meetings along with other Van Loan Committees as assigned.  
- Perform other duties as assigned.
 

Qualifications

- Registered Nurse license required
- An earned Ph.D. in Nursing or equivalent 
- Experience teaching graduate level courses preferably at the doctoral level. 
- Experience in the administration or leadership of a program within a small college or university is preferred but not required.
- Excellent leadership and administrative skills. 
- Ability to work well with fellow professionals. 
- Availability to work evenings and occasional Saturdays when courses are offered. 
- Possess a strong record of sustained professional achievement and scholarship; a program of research strongly desired. 
- The position demands excellent communication skills, the ability to foster and support scholarly activity, and effective leadership skills
