Description

1. Performs all supervisory duties for areas of responsibility, including recruitment, interviews, hiring, staff evaluations, scheduling, training, mentoring, marketing, statistics, and managing the Writing Center budget.
a. Coordinates the administrative and managerial operations of the Writing Center.
b. Tutors in the Writing Center. 
2. Oversee the training sessions for Levels I, II and III peer tutor certifications and approves appropriate projects for advanced levels of CRLA certification for the Writing Center in collaboration with the Director of the Tutoring Center. 
a. Collaborates with the Director of the Tutoring Center to ensure compliance with CRLA certification requirements.
3. Collaborates with the Director of the Tutoring Center regarding the professional development and training of the professional tutors.
4. Creates end of semester and annual usage reports for the Writing Center and updates the annual assessment plan.
5. Maintains the internal Google Site and eBook for policies and procedures and the respective timelines. 
6. Consults with undergraduate and graduate faculty who are teaching ENG111, ENG 112, Senior Thesis I and II, and writing-designated courses.
7. Collaborates with the Van Loan Directors regarding Writing Center support for the Van Loan population.
8. Serves on College Committees and Task Forces as appropriate.
9. Promotes the division at all College events.
10. Perform other duties as needed to meet the goals of the department, division, and College.
 

Qualifications

Terminal degree in Rhetoric and Composition required; emphasis, concentration, or research-focus in writing center studies and/or multiliteracy preferred.
Experience managing and tutoring in a college writing center.
Experience working with and relating to students in higher education.
Administrative and supervisory experience required. 
Experience in academic support services at the college level.
 
COMPUTER SOFTWARE SKILLS NEEDED:
Experience with Google for Education platforms (Docs, Slides, Sheets, Sites, etc.).
Advanced expertise in the use of all components of Microsoft Office Suite. 
Proficient in use of email, social media, Canvas Learning Management System, COAST management system, Internet searches, MyEndicott, and COGNOS, and web design.
