Performs carpentry tasks involving construction, repairing or improving structures, facilities or fixtures.  Position requires knowledge and application of carpentry skill and ability to perform tasks associated with that trade.
Responsibilities include:
1. Responds to work orders relating to carpentry.
2. At the direction of the Director, plans, schedules and performs routine maintenance and repair of College structures and facilities.
3. Performs emergency or temporary repairs to structures and facilities.
4. At the direction of the Director, makes improvements to facilities or structures.
5. As required by circumstances, assist with snow removal or special occasion set-ups.  Assist department members as needed.
6. At the direction of the director, performs inspections and evaluations of outside contractors’ performance and report findings to the Director.
7. Reports status of projects and keeps records of time and materials for project.
8. Maintains workshop area in orderly manner and informs Director of supplies needed.
9. Essential Personnel.
10. Other duties as required by the Director.


Provide own vehicle and tools/equipment to perform duties.
Minimum of five years of field experience in carpentry.  License desirable.
Ability to make recommendations and estimations of cost and time.
Must provide proof of valid Mass. Driver’s license, registration and DOT medical form annually.
Ability to learn new skills.
