The AVP-HR will be responsible for the leadership and management of the human resource team that has responsibility for talent management, recruitment, training and development, employee and labor relations, performance management, compensation, benefits and wellness, health and welfare related risk management, compliance, human resources technology, human resources budget and employee programs for approximately 1,000 employees. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
1. Provide strategic and organizational guidance to senior leaders on human resources issues. 
2. Provide subject matter expertise and guidance in all human resources areas.
3. Develop strategies to promote Endicott as an employer of choice. Actively advance diversity and inclusion initiatives in conjunction with various campus leaders and groups.
4. Demonstrate agility and expertise in leading organizational initiatives that align with the College's mission and goals working collaboratively with all departments.
5. Design and implement programs and systems to continuously improve human resource efficiency and effectiveness in compliance with labor laws including but not limited to EEO, ADA, and COBRA. Ensure requisite compliance in all areas of human resources.
6. Design and manage staff compensation programs and plans working with the Vice President of Finance & CFO.
7. Design and administer performance appraisal program.
8. Design, develop, implement and administer the College’s benefits package in support of attracting and retaining high quality employees. 
9. Oversee and monitor the annual human resources budget. Responsible for budget administration for all employee benefit programs as well as Human Resources Department operating budget.
10. Collaborate with Marketing and Communications department to develop strategy and calendar for strategic human resources communication designed to deliver timely, informative and critical internal communications to faculty, staff and other stakeholders.  
11. Oversee the management of employee relations throughout the College.
12. Participates in the administration of the College’s collective bargaining agreement with the union. Acts as the College’s representative in the union grievance procedure.
13. Oversee the preparation of human resources and benefit related required Federal and State reports, including EEO reports, and 5500 Reports for benefit programs.
14. Oversees the administration of the College’s Workers’ Compensation and unemployment claims, including timely filing of related forms.
15. Responsible developing and implementing employee training and campus orientation, including the fall orientation for returning administration, faculty and staff.
16. Assist and serve as contact person for approved, College-sponsored visa extensions and permanent resident status (green card).
17. Performs other duties as assigned.


  • Bachelor degree required, Master’s degree in related field or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience with or knowledge of all human resources functional areas (talent management, labor and employee relations, training and development, compensation, benefit and wellness, performance management, risk management, compliance) and commitment to best practices.
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible human resource experience.
  • Current knowledge of Massachusetts and federal labor laws, rules and regulations related to all human resources areas.
  • Demonstrated experience with data informed decision making.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent computer skills, preferably Microsoft Office and CARS.
  • Excellent customer services attitude.
  • Ability to relate to people, display sensitivity to their needs, and maintain complete confidentiality.
