Workshops        APA 2009 Updates        MLA 2009 Updates

Writing Center tutors work with hundreds of Endicott students each semester.  We offer free one-on-one conferences to discuss any writing for any Endicott class-undergraduate or graduate.  Writing tutors can help writers with any of the following:

  • Understanding assignments
  • Brainstorming ideas
  • Organizing information
  • Developing clear arguments and ideas
  • Finding and using sources
  • Citing sources in APA, MLA, or Chicago-style format
  • Writing strong introductions and conclusions
  • Learning strategies for improving grammar, punctuation, and sentence structure

Writing tutors do not edit or proofread papers, but they do help students learn how to improve their own writing.

What Students are Saying

"Honest suggestions.  Very helpful.  A+"

"The greatest help is that my tutor is a fresh set of eyes that hasn't read my paper or the topic of the paper, so I know what points really need clarification for better understanding."

"Learned how to become more specific with my thoughts and how to expand on them.  Learned how to develop [a] good thesis."

"Simply going through the paper paragraph by paragraph and working on structure and citing was extremely helpful."

"I found reading the paper aloud and together helped me to find some rough areas, but also my strong areas."

“Organizing and planning…really helped me and made me feel more comfortable writing my assignment.”

“Most helpful—tutor was able to help me even though I was in an early stage of the writing process.”
