Lisa Courcy, Assistant Professor

Lisa Courcy, RNC, MSN, C-EFM is an assistant professor teaching Care of Childbearing Families, Care of Children, Community Health and Senior Internship.  She holds certifications from the American Nurse Credentialling Center in perinatal nursing, as well as from the National Certification Center in Electronic Fetal Monitoring. In 2007, Prof. Courcy became certified by the American Academy of Pediatrics as a Neonatal Resuscitation Provider instructor. She has also been employed in the community setting as a family support RN for the Family Outreach Program in Rhode Island, providing nursing support and social service referrals to at risk families with newborns.   Prof. Courcy is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society in Nursing and the Massachusetts Nurses Association, and continues to work as a staff nurse at Tufts Medical Center in the Mother-Infant Unit.

Lisa Courcy's area of expertise includes: pregnancy and childbirth, adolescent pregnancy, dating violence, infant and child growth and development, breastfeeding, pediatrics, community health, and simulation technology in nurse education
