Title: Head Men's & Women's Rugby Coach

Description:

Provide instruction, mentoring and guidance to student athletes to allow them to develop their athletic skills and abilities to maximum potential.  Evaluate athletic ability and performance.  Assure that equipment and practice plans are prepared in advance of practice sessions.  Maintain positive and professional relations with students, athletes, and alumni.  Ability to teach safe and proper technique to beginning level players while challenging and integrating the skills of higher-level players. Collaborate with team captains to set goals, develop budgets, evaluate organizational needs, problem-solve, and serve as a liaison with other college departments essential to program implementations and success.  Available to coach both Fall and Spring semesters, up to three practices per week and weekend matches. Recruit and attend various college events to further the team's interests.

Qualifications:

Knowledge of current USAR laws, playing styles and coaching methods.  Recent playing or coaching experience a plus.  Ability to adapt coaching skills to the needs and goals of the team.  Ability to teach players with varying levels of experience the fundamentals of rugby.  Strong understanding of offensive and defensive strategy, set pieces and situational decision-making.  Strong leadership and managerial skills.
