Title: Director, Student Activities

Description:
  1. Hands on developing and planning of a well-balanced calendar of activities.  This calendar includes social, educational, cultural and recreational programs that are developed based on student interests, needs and institutional philosophy.
  2. Implementing all Student Activities programs which requires supervising student volunteers and advising Student Activities Committee members, utilizing a wide range of publicity vehicles, timely planning of event details and attendance at events as is appropriate.
  3. Evaluating all Student Activities programs and services to ensure quality programming.  Initiating recommendations for improvement/changes in Student Activities programming so as to continually assess programmatic offerings in light of a changing student population and institutional direction.
  4. Overseeing all aspects of the college yearbook including but not limited to photography, text development, publication, mailing/distribution.  Working with student volunteers in order to ensure the yearbook reflects status of institution as a 4-year co-educational college and appropriately highlights student interests, activities and opportunities for involvement.
  5. Coordinating of college-wide transportation services including shuttle service management, van/bus usage scheduling and supervision of the driver pool.
  6. Preparing and maintaining a campus-wide master calendar that is inclusive of all events occurring within the Endicott Community.
  7. Acting as advisor to the Student Activities Committee, and Commuter Clubs.  Effectively supervising a student staff as appropriate.
  8. Coordinating publicity of Student Activities events by utilizing a wide range of on and off campus promotional tools.
  9. Working with Student Government Association, club and organization presidents and faculty advisors to ensure active participation by the club/organization within established college guidelines.
  10. Practicing sound fiscal management of a Student Activities budget that includes adherence to college purchasing procedures, capital expenditures and operating budget recommendations as well as accurate and timely budget reconciliation.
  11. Coordinating with and assisting, when requested, in the successful implementation of Conferencing Activities, especially but not limited to the summer months.
  12. Maintaining a positive working relationship with other departments including but not limited to Residence Life, Physical Plant, Custodial Services, Campus Safety, Dining Services and Business Office.
  13. Providing for supervision of all campus activities.  This entails attendance at programs, working with faculty advisors to ensure appropriate supervision of club/organization activities and organizing student volunteers in order to ensure adequate staffing of all events.
  14. Participating in departmental and college-wide committees and projects as is appropriate.
  15. Representing the Student Development Office in a professional capacity through participation in and attendance at college-wide events such as Accepted Students Day, New Student Orientation, Family Weekend/Homecoming, Commencement, Admissions Open Houses, etc.
  16. Working with other community members in order to ensure efficient management of a Campus Pub.  This includes ensuring adherence to college policy, local, state and federal legislation as well as implementation of appropriate programming promoting responsible consumption of alcohol.

17.     Serve as back-up Emergency Building Administrator (Primary is Assistant Director of  Student Activities) – Responsible for taking attendance for the Grove at the Post Center Rally Point and provide information to Emergency Personnel should an emergency situation occur.

Qualifications:
  1. A minimum of an earned Bachelor’s degree;
  2. Experience in Student Activities or related field;
  3. Willingness and ability to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends.
  4. A sincere interest in working with college-age students.
  5. Desire to be a contributing member of a fast-paced Student Development Team.
  6. Work schedule may vary at the direction of the college.
