Biographical Profile
Deborah Finkelstein has an MFA in Creative Writing from Goddard College, and a BA from Rutgers University, where she majored in English and Theater.
Accomplishments
Deborah Finkelstein's plays have been part of festivals around the U.S. including the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts "Page to Stage Festival;" The Chicago Christmas Spectacular; "Girl Play" and "Naked Women Fully Clothed" at the Women's Theater Project, Fort Lauderdale; and Chicago Dramatists' "What Scares Me the Most," with guest director Joy Meads, Literary Manager of Steppenwolf Theatre Co. Her poetry has been published in anthologies, newspapers, and literary magazines in 7 countries as well as online. She has also published short stories and journalism.
In the Boston area, Deborah's poems have been published in Ibbetson Street, Lyrical Sommerville/Somerville News, Stoneham Sun, The Christian Science Monitor, and The Nor'easter. Her plays have been produced at Roxbury Repertory Theatre, and by GAN-e-meed at The Factory Theatre.
