RATUSHINSKAYA, Irina

Birth date:  1954
Birthplace:  Odessa, Ukraine
Education: Educated at Odessa University and received a MA in 1976. 
Professional Career: Poet in residence from 1987-89 at Northwestern University, Evanston, IL; writer. She spent four years in a labor camp in Mordovia, U.S.S.R., 1982-86.

SADUR, Nina

Birth date: 1950
Birthplace: Novosibirsk
Education: Graduated from the drama department of Moscow's Literary Institute in 1983.
Professional Career:  Nina Sadur is perhaps best known as a playwright and  has been compared to Gogol. whose short story Vij was the basis for one of Sadur's most popular plays, Little Lady.
