Birthdate:  1944
Birthplace:  Iraq
Education:  Alia Mamdouh received her degree in psychology from the University of Mastansariyya, Iraq in 1971.
Career:  Alia Mamdouh served as editor-in-chief of Al-Rasid magazine from 1970 to 1982.  She also spent two years as editor of Al-Fikr al Mu'asir magazine.  She is an active contributor to many of the major newspapers and journals of the Arabic-speaking world.  She currently lives in Paris.
