About Misselwood Concours d’Elegance

Founded in 2009 and inaugurated in 2010, the Misselwood Concours d’Elegance has become the social highlight of the North Shore, as it celebrates style, excellence and elegance on Boston’s Gold Coast by bringing together high-end classic automobiles and motorcycles from across the nation. Located at the oceanfront Misselwood Estate in Beverly, MA, the two-day event features a Tour d’Elegance and a Concours d’Elegance and serves as a fundraiser event for scholarships at Endicott College. While owners compete for various awards, spectators can enjoy the spectacular vistas, as well as an oceanside brunch, fancy hat contests, fashion shows, champagne bars, art exhibits and musical entertainment. 2013 dates are July 27-28. A Concours d'Elegance (from French meaning a competition of elegance) dates back to 17th Century French aristocracy, who paraded horse-drawn carriages in the parks of Paris during summer weekends and holidays. Over time, carriages became horseless and the gatherings became a competition among automobile owners to be judged on the appearance of their automobiles.
