Workshop Descriptions

Canvas Basics

Attend this 2 hour workshop for a comprehensive introduction to Canvas. You will learn about account settings, notification preferences, messaging students, uploading files, editing pages, customizing the course navigation, and building assignments. You will also learn the basics of quizzes, discussions, and grading. 

Build Your Canvas Course

This 2 hour work session will take you through how to transfer your materials (files and assignments) from GullNet to Canvas and then set up the foundations of your course by creating content pages, assignments, modules, and course navigation.  Recommended for instructors already familiar with the basics of Canvas.   

GullNet: Uploading Course Content and Communication Tools

Learn how to upload and organize course materials including the course syllabus, presentations and documents; and links to web sites. You will also work with GullNet’s communication tools including email, blog and announcements. Note: Bring a USB flash drive with your course materials.

GullNet: Setting Up Coursework, Gradebook and Discussion Forums

Attend and learn how to create, manage and grade student assignments and calculate student’s overall grade. You will also learn how to setup discussion forums for your face-to-face, hybrid or online class.
