Arts Fest Beverly: Community Art Exhibition

Beverly, MA. Endicott College and Beverly Main Streets invite you to enjoy a true community collaborative art exhibit in the Carol Grillo Art Gallery, Endicott College’s Center for the Arts, 376 Hale Street, Beverly, MA, from now through August 3, 2012. The reception for this event is Friday, June 15, 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Gallery Hours are Monday through Thursday from 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., and Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. The exhibit and reception are free and open to the public.
This exhibit includes works from artists who reside in Beverly, work in Beverly, are associated with arts organizations in Beverly, or studying in Beverly. Oil, acrylic, sculpture, watercolor, collage, and photography are just a few of the media represented in this fine arts exhibition. Students from Montserrat College and Endicott College as well as students from Beverly High School, Landmark, and students who live in Beverly but attend high school outside of the Beverly public school system. There is also representation from the Beverly Guild of Artists and Express Yourself, Inc. The Carol Grillo Art Gallery is alive with brilliant color and creativity from the many talented Beverly artists, making for a show not to be missed. This year’s featured artist is Beverly High School art teacher, Paula Borsetti. “Paula’s is well known throughout the Beverly arts community and has been working as an art teacher and curriculum facilitator at Beverly High School since 1994, states Kathleen Moore – Coordinator of Visual Arts at Endicott. Paula is such a dedicated teacher and mentor and has been able to make a difference in the lives of many Beverly students, through education and her passion for art. Beverly has many talented artists, and we are pleased that Paula Borsetti has accepted our invitation to be the featured Arts Fest Artist this year.”
The reception for this exhibit will be on Friday, June 15 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. The evening will start with music provided by Brian Fitzpatrick, food and refreshments will also be served. Many of the artists’ exhibiting will be in attendance and available to discuss their works, some of which are for sale.
Arts Fest Beverly: Community Art Exhibition is in conjunction with Arts Fest Beverly, a free outdoor festival in downtown Beverly on Saturday, June 16, that is fun for the whole family! The festival includes over 100 juried fine artists and crafters, music and entertainment, kids' activities, art-on-the-spot creations, great food and more! Kathleen Moore states, “Endicott College is pleased to host the Arts Fest Beverly: Community Art Exhibition over the summer so that the many artists and community members of the North Shore, and the general public can enjoy it. For some of the participants this exhibit is their first juried event, while many of the other artists have exhibited in multiple shows and galleries throughout the state and have won significant awards for their art. Bringing younger artists together with seasoned artists lends to a fascinating blend of community, energy, and opportunity.”
Endicott College is proud to be a part of the rich cultural tradition of the North Shore. Like many other institutions of higher learning, the College seeks to contribute to the social, educational, and economic health of the community. The Center for the Arts is the perfect setting for this exhibit.
