Theory to Practice: Select Works from Endicott Interior Design Alumni
Beverly, MA – The Walter J. Manninen Center for the Arts at Endicott College is pleased to present the exhibition, Theory to Practice: Select Works from Interior Design Alumni, from now – September 19, 2014 in the Spencer Presentation Gallery, Manninen Center for the Arts, Endicott College, 376 Hale Street, Beverly. Gallery hours are Monday-Thursday, 9 am – 5 pm; Friday, 9 am – 1 pm. A reception and gallery talk will take place on Friday, June 6 at 4:30 p.m. and will feature two of the Alumni who are participating in this exhibition.
Theory to Practice is a selection of exceptional contemporary Interior Design projects, created by 30 Endicott College alumni who are representing 17 world-class design firms; and includes samples from educational, healthcare, residential and corporate designs.
Rather than a unique Endicott style or aesthetic, viewers will encounter another major characteristic unifying the design; a work ethic and professionalism that starts in the curriculum and continues through the alumni’s practice. Kevin Renz, Associate Dean of Interior Design at Endicott says of his curatorial intentions, “I was seeking a broad spectrum of options to share with our current students, alumni, and the general public, ranging from high-end residential to very complex commercial interiors. The design and construction of sophisticated interior environments requires a balance between reality and the unreal, wherein lies one of the concepts of this exhibit.” Professor Renz concluded, “The designs on view display their passion for redesigning our built environment.”
