Collaborations and Partnerships
Endicott College partners with the Comunidad de Madrid (2010-2012) in providing
on-campus summer, month-long, residential professional development experience for secondary art teachers from the Comunidad de Madrid’s Bilingual Program. The college provides an English immersion experience in visual arts and English Literature through direct instruction with Arts and Learning faculty, supplemented by on-site visits for direct observation within American art schools and classrooms. Arts and Learning students participate as teaching assistants in the classroom delivery. Teacher participants become familiar with current research and instructional methodologies in the field of secondary-level art instruction as well as second language acquisition.
Endicott College is partnered with Express Yourself, a Beverly-based arts and education collaborative organization, dedicated to immersing young people in the creative world of visual and performing arts and empowering these youth with life changing results. Express Yourself has won numerous awards and recognitions for their work with young people. Most notably, they were a recipient of the 2009 Coming Up Taller Award, presented by the President’s Committee on the Arts and the Humanities at the White House by First Lady Michelle Obama. Most recently, Express Yourself won the Robert F. Kennedy Embracing the Legacy award, 2012.
