Beverly, MA - The Angle Center for Entrepreneurship at Endicott College is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Ric Upton as its Entrepreneur-in-Residence for the 2016-2017 academic year.
A resident of Gloucester, MA, Ric has been involved in the development and growth of technology-based businesses for more than 30 years. As founder of Gloucester Innovation, he is focused on promoting the growth of businesses involved in artificial intelligence, data analytics, mobility, remote sensing and autonomy.
Ric is also the Executive Vice President for Strategic Development at Pixel Forensics, Inc., where he is focused on multimedia analytics and data mining for the Federal government, law enforcement and commercial clients.
“We are excited to have someone of Ric’s caliber join our team here at the Angle Center for Entrepreneurship. With more students, alumni and area entrepreneurs taking advantage of our program, I’m thrilled that Ric will help us continue the entrepreneurial innovation happening here at Endicott College”, remarked the Center’s director, Deirdre Sartorelli. “The fact that Ric has also been an Executive-in-Residence with General Catalyst Partners, a venture capital firm headquartered in Cambridge, MA, and run venture-based companies, makes him a natural for this position.”
“Endicott College’s commitment to entrepreneurship, with its center of gravity in the Angle Center, its STEM incubator for early stage life sciences companies, and its recent investment in a Maker Space focused on DIY robotics and additive manufacturing, make this an exciting platform to stimulate and accelerate new businesses, from idea to launch,” says Ric. “Couple that with a tremendous ecosystem of experienced business talent on the North Shore, Endicott’s students and faculty, and our proximity to the numerous financial, technological and other resources found in Boston, and I believe we have the opportunity to do some truly unique and impactful things.”
