Endicott College Introduces New Logo
Beverly, MA -- Endicott College announced today the unveiling of a new logo and graphic identity, for immediate use across campus and online. The logo consists of a newly-designed visual icon and an updated wordmark bearing the College’s name.
The new icon features an updated nod to the traditional College Seal, which has often been used as the logo in the past. Maintaining the shield shape of the Seal, the icon features one of the most noteworthy buildings on campus, College Hall.
“We talked to a lot of our community members about what visual elements they associate with the College,” said Dr. Richard Wylie, President, Endicott College. “The beaches were a popular answer, but ultimately not a fit for this design, and College Hall was an overwhelming favorite among the structures on campus. As it’s quite the stand-out building architecturally, it seemed like a wonderful fit for the new icon. It lets us retain our sense of tradition and history, while moving forward into a new phase of brand identity unlike any other we’ve had in the past.”
An imposing Tudor-style stone mansion, College Hall was originally built in 1916 as a summer home for William Armory Gardner, a ward of Isabella Stuart Gardner. The College purchased the building in 1940, and since then it has served as classrooms, residence halls, and offices. Currently it holds the President’s Office and other administrative departments and is an iconic feature of the campus. The open-ended driveway in the icon may be seen to signify the road to the future, upon which all students will travel during their time at Endicott, and openness to change and growth.
The logo has designated space for specialization for different departments and organizations across campus, allowing the College to maintain its cohesive new look across many multiple uses. It is in use now in publications, administrative material, and new banners on campus roadways, and is being integrated into a redesign of online properties that is expected to launch later this year.
