Bill Samenfink

Dr. William Samenfink, Dean and Professor of the School of Hospitality Management, spent ten years in Europe running free standing hospitality programs before coming to Endicott College. During this time, he was investigating the international hospitality educational environment. He completed his undergraduate work at the University of Wisconsin-Stout. After becoming a General Manager with a major chain restaurant, he completed an M.B.A. degree from Washington State University. Dr. Samenfink received his Ph.D. from Washington State University in Educational Administration. He has many published articles in scholarly hospitality journals both domestically and internationally. He also has given many presentations at academic and professional conferences in and outside the United States. He served as President for the International Council of Hotel Restaurant and Institutional Educators (ICHRIE), a worldwide hospitality educators association. He also is a member of the Board of Directors for EuroCHRIE, a federation of ICHRIE. In addition, he is a Fellow in the Institute of Hospitality in the United Kingdom, and holds various memberships in many other hospitality organizations. Recently, he received an honorary Doctorate from the North American Association of Food Equipment Manufactures, for exemplary service to the foodservice industry.

 Peter Jenner Peter Jenner, Chair of the School of Hospitality Management and Assistant Professor, started working for a winery in the Finger Lakes region of New York before doing twenty years in the hotel restaurant industry as manager and chef. After working in Houston, New Orleans, and Atlanta, he settled on the North Shore of Boston. He studied at the University of Pittsburgh and graduated, cum laude, with a Bachelor of Science from the International Programme for Hospitality Studies and two Masters in both Arts and Learning and Organizational Management from Endicott College. He now teaches The Foundations of Hospitality, Marketing, The History and Appreciation of Wine, as well as The Cultural History of Food, and Tourism. Currently the Chair of the City of Gloucester Tourism Commission, he is also a member of the International Council of Hotel Restaurant and Institutional Educators (ICHRIE), the Massachusetts Restaurant Association (MRA), The National Honor Society for Undergraduate Juniors and Seniors (Alpha Chi), and the Gloucester Chamber of Commerce.

 Faculty picture Patricia McCaughey (Associate Professor) has been a member of the School of Hospitality Management for over ten years. Her degrees include a B.S. in Business Administration from Suffolk University and a M.B.A. from New Hampshire College. Prior to coming to Endicott, she was employed by a major hotel chain in the areas of corporate accounting and front office management. At Endicott, she teaches in the area of accounting, front office, computer applications, convention sales, meeting planning and strategic management. She also played a major role in the development and implementation of the curriculum for the Baccalaureate program in Hospitality Management when it was first developed.

Faculty picture James Perry (Assistant Professor) has worked in the hospitality industry for the past 10 years. After starting out with Hyatt Hotels in Chicago as a Sales Manager, he went on to a Project Management position for TravelCLICK, providing hotels worldwide with revenue management and advertising information. Before joining Endicott, he was a Research Associate for the Harvard Business School and an Adjunct Professor in the Hospitality Division at Bay State College. Professor Perry received his B.A. in Hotel Restaurant and Institutional Management from Mercyhurst College, an MBA from Benedictine University, and is currently working on a DBA from the International School of Management (ISM). He teaches Senior Thesis I and II, Foundations of Hospitality, Resort Management, Fundamentals of Events and Meeting Management at Endicott College.

Faculty picture Dr. Linda Robson (Assistant Professor) has been an international event planner since 1997. She has planned events in Austria, Czech Republic, Switzerland, New Zealand, Canada, Italy, and the United States. Dr. Robson has planned academic conferences, opening ceremonies, sports tournaments, and children's events, and has over 20 years of experience working with volunteers. Dr. Robson is a member of PCMA and MPI and sits on the APEX Education Advisory Council. She was a founding member of the George Washington University Tourism Alumni Network and served as the President-Elect and President. Dr. Robson completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Guelph, in Canada, her Master of Tourism Administration at George Washington University, and her PhD at the University of Waterloo in Canada. Her research interests include the event industry, risk, and risk perception. She also holds an Event Management Certificate from George Washington University and the Special Event Coordinator designation from Ontario Tourism Education Corporation. Dr. Robson has been a speaker and published in several academic and industry events and publications.

Brendan Cronin Brendan Cronin completed his hospitality studies in Ireland and is a graduate of City and Guilds Institute of London. He completed further practical studies in Switzerland in various hotels, restaurants and resorts. He has worked for major international hotel companies in Ireland, Switzerland, Africa, Thailand, Macao, Malaysia and Singapore. Prior to joining Endicott College in 1995, he taught at the Swiss Hotel Association School, Les Roches in Switzerland. During his stay at Les Roches, he obtained his Swiss Master Chef qualification, the highest culinary achievement recognized worldwide. Brendan has worked on several hospitality textbooks, especially in the field of translation and completed the translation of the textbook "precis de cuisine" from French to English for the Swiss food company, Nestle. He is a member of the American Culinary Federation (ACF), The International Council on Hotel, Restaurant and Institutional Education (ICHRIE), and the Massachusetts Restaurant Association (MRA). A two-time nominee for the Excellence in Teaching Award, Brendan has a Master of Business Administration from Endicott College, where he teaches Events Management, Culinary Arts, Initiating Hospitality Ventures and Senior Internship Seminars. He serves on several committees on campus and is the chapter advisor for Eta Sigma Delta, The International Hospitality Management Honor Society.

Patrick Cornelissen Patrick Cornelissen started his hospitality career at various restaurants in his home country of Belgium. Both passionate about photography and traveling, he has visited over 25 countries and lived in Spain and the U.K. before settling in the USA. He worked for the Four Seasons Hotel Canary Wharf, London prior to joining the School of Hospitality Management, where he now teaches the practical components of the student-run restaurant to freshman students, as well as the serior internship course. In his current role as Director of Operations for the Event and Conference Services Department, he focuses on the implementation of large scale events, residential programs, seminars and weddings. Active in various local organizations, he serves on the Executive Board of Directors for the North of Boston Convention and Visitors Bureau (NBCVB), is the Regional Director for the Association of Collegiate Conference and Events Directors International (ACCED-I), and is a member of The International Council on Hotel, Restaurant and Institutional Education (ICHRIE). He holds a Bachelor Degree in Business and Marketing from Belgium, earned a Swiss Hotel Management Diploma from the Les Roches International School of Hotel Management, obtained a second Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management and a Master in Business Administration from Endicott College and is currently completing a Certificate of Collegiate Conference and Events Professional.

Donna Richards

Donna Richards currently works at the Event and Conferencing Department as an Event Manager, where she focuses on selling and coordinating weddings, residential programs and day meetings. Additionally, she assists the School of Hospitality as a student advisor and supports the dean's office with administrative tasks. She is an active member of the Association of Collegiate Conference and Events Directors International (ACCED-I) and serves on various committees on campus. Donna graduated from University of Massachusetts Amherst in January of 2007 with a Bachelor's Degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management with a concentration in Tourism and Event Planning. In addition, she holds a Master in Business Administration from Endicott College.

Julie Gentile

Julie Gentile (Internship Coordinator for the School of Hospitality) is a lifelong resident of Beverly.  She earned a BS in Computer Science from Merrimack College and an MS in Computer Science from Fitchburg State University. After many years of working in the software industry at companies such as: Raytheon, Xyvision, Hart Hanks and WebEx, Julie came to Endicott to teach Computer Science courses. During that time she taught Project Management and met her first Hospitality students. One of the hallmarks of Endicott College is the internship program. After years of teaching full semester internship for Business and Technology she took on the role of Internship Coordinator. The opportunity to help students make connections through experiential learning is her passion.

Micah Abrams Micah Abrams, born in Maine, is a graduate from the Swiss Hotel Management School of Les Roches in Marbella, Spain. Prior to joining Endicott he worked in a variety of hospitality companies, including restaurants, hotels and clubs in Portugal, as well as in Colorado and Maine. He currently works in the School of Hospitality Management as a Food and Beverage Stagiaire.

Steffi Juenemann Steffi Junemann, German national, graduated with a degree in Hospitality Management from Les Roches, School of Hospitality Management in Bluche, Switzerland. Steffi gained hospitality experience in different restaurants, conference centers and hotels in The United States, Germany and Switzerland. She is currently employed as a Food and Beverage Stagiaire at the School of Hospitality Management at Endicott College.

Henric Persson Henric Persson, from Sweden, graduated from the International Hotel Management School of Les Roches in Bluche, Switzerland. During his time abroad he worked at luxury boutique hotels in Thailand, Spain and the United States and was part of two restaurant opening teams in his home country. He is currently employed as a Food and Beverage Stagiaire at the School of Hospitality Management at Endicott College.

Tanya Strahlendorf Tanya Strahlendorf was born in South Africa and moved to Germany at the age of nine. Tanya joins us from the Swiss Hotel Management School of Les Roches, where she completed her studies, as well as worked in the pastry section. She is currently employed as a Pastry Stagiaire at the School of Hospitality Management at Endicott College.
