Director
David R. DiSarro, Ph.D.
David earned his doctorate in Rhetoric and Composition from Ball State University in July 2011. He has a M.A. in English from Southern Connecticut State University, where he was also a Graduate Research Fellow, and a B.F.A. in Creative Writing from the University of Maine at Farmington. David has taught numerous courses in writing, rhetoric, and research at Southern Connecticut State University and Ball State University, as well as designed courses in the History of Women’s Writing and Rhetoric and Writing for the Digital Age. In addition, David has tutored writing across the disciplines, presented at national and regional conferences, and has published several poems and short stories in print and online literary journals. He currently has a book chapter under review on the use of activity theory in writing pedagogy. David tutors in the Writing Center alongside the other Professional and Peer Writing Tutors. Katie Brown
Katie graduated from Endicott with a B.S. in Business (Marketing) in December 2012. She is currently a graduate student in the Master of Business Administration (MBA) program and hails from Portsmouth, RI. In her free time she enjoys being involved in team sports like soccer and volleyball, and spending her summers on the beaches in Newport. In the future, Katie hopes to travel abroad and pursue a career in marketing.

Amy Cohn
Although Amy grew up in New York City, she has spent almost her entire adult life in the Boston area. She graduated from Binghamton University with honors in history and election to Phi Beta Kappa and went on to work in publishing for a year. Then she returned to school to earn an M.A. in children's literature at Simmons College. A long career in children's literature and publishing ensued, part of which included (and still includes) wearing an educator's hat (teaching courses in children's literature to undergraduate and graduate students). Amy came to Endicott College and the Division of Academic Resources seven years ago, splitting her time among the Writing Center, one-on-one work with students, and occasional teaching. She enjoys every part of this community tremendously--students, colleagues, and those breathtaking ocean views. Amy is married with two high-school age children.

Linda Emma
Linda is an author, journalist, and freelance writer with more than 20 years experience writing for newspapers, magazines, online websites, and private clients. She has a BA in journalism from Northeastern University and currently works as a college instructor, tutor, and private writing coach.

Ellen Goldstein
Ellen has a B.A. from Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota, and an M.F.A. in poetry from Emerson College in Boston. She began tutoring at Carleton and has also tutored at the Boston Architecture College. She has been a copy editor and a bookseller, and has published poetry in a wide range of journals. When not tutoring, she is a freelance editor.

Julie Jensen
Julie holds a B.S. in elementary education from Salve Regina University and an M.A. in foundations of teaching and curriculum from Fairfield University. Julie was a public elementary school teacher for 10 years in Connecticut and Massachusetts school systems. During this time she was a cooperating teacher for graduate and undergraduate education majors, and a district mentor to beginning teachers. She has also served as the assistant program director for the Connecticut Council of Teachers of English. In addition, Julie was awarded a fellowship through the University of Connecticut to participate in the Connecticut Writing Project, where she developed and ran a workshop on maintaining student voice in non-fiction writing. Julie lives on the North Shore with her family.

Lachlan Magee
Lachlan graduated from Endicott with a B.S. in Business Administration (Finance) in May 2013. He is an international graduate student from Melbourne, Australia. After completing his studies, he plans on returning to Melbourne to seek out a career in the financial industry. He was also a member of the Endicott College Scholars Program and the Endicott College Men’s Basketball Team. In his spare time he enjoys surfing, fishing, playing sports, relaxing to music, and spending time with friends. He has ambitions to one day continue to travel around the world and discover new places.

Courtney Olmos Ryan
Courtney has a B.A. in history and English from East Carolina University in Greenville, NC, and an M.Ed. in secondary education from the University of Phoenix. She completed a college internship with Walt Disney World and worked there as a recreation guest service manager before entering the teaching profession. She taught English and history at Professional and Technical High School in Kissimmee, FL and history at Shawsheen Valley Technical High School in Billerica, MA. She loves to travel and thinks of herself as an adventurer. Courtney lived in London, England in 2006-2007 and considers it one of her greatest adventures. She is happy to call the Boston area home and lives in Winchester with her family.

Patricia Shepherd
Tricia holds a B.A. in Individualized Studies (2008) and an M.F.A. in Creative Writing (2010) from Goddard College in Plainfield, VT. She has lived in/worked as a teacher, librarian, and administrator in Casablanca, Morocco; Las Palmas, Spain; Cairo, Egypt; Blue Hill, Maine; and Asmara, Eritrea. Interested in educational leadership, she served as student trustee at Goddard and is on the Miss Hall's School board of Visitors in Pittsfield, MA. She writes poetry, fiction, short stories, and nonfiction. She currently lives with her husband Jack in Gloucester, MA and Blue Hill, ME. They have two adult children: a son and a daughter -- both live on the west coast.

Kevin Duffy
Kevin is a junior honors student from Reading, MA. Even as a finance major, Kevin knew immediately the Writing Center would be a critical academic resource. He adores both his Endicott family and the surrounding North Shore community. At Endicott, Kevin serves as the Vice President of the Class of 2015, and as a Residence Hall Associate for Healthy Living. Along the North Shore, Kevin works as an industrial sales associate at Fastenal in Peabody, volunteers for the North Shore Habitat for Humanity, and plays in the North Shore baseball league.

Emily Fournier
Emily is majoring in psychology with a criminal justice concentration. She grew up in Shrewsbury, MA, but moved to Leicester, MA two weeks before starting her freshman year at Endicott. She is a member of REACH Peer Education, the Law and Justice Club, and the Endicott College Scholars Program. Emily was awarded the position of Endicott College Writing Fellow for the 2012 - 2013 academic year and worked closely with Prof. Saltikoff's PSY 302 (Research Methods) students. She also works off campus at the Beverly Bootstraps Thrift Shop. After graduation, she plans on going to graduate school to earn a Ph.D. is criminal psychology and to become a criminal psychologist.

Nicole LeLacheur
Nicole is from Lowell, MA and is majoring in communications with a concentration in contemporary journalism. Nicole is a staff writer for the Endicott Observer and enjoys writing, blogging, crafts, traveling, and going to the beach. She hopes to one day write for a magazine like Real Simple, or do something in the field of writing.

Ashley (Ash) Monks
Ash is an honors student majoring in Communication with a concentration in Digital Film and a minor in Creative Writing. She's traveled here from the not-so-far-away land of Londonderry, NH, where she discovered her passion for telling a good story. Alongside writing, she has a strange addiction to research, organization, and planning surprises. Her dream is to be a published author before she graduates.

Kimberly is from Northampton, MA. She is majoring in English with a concentration in Creative Writing and a minor in Communication. She hopes to work in either publishing or advertising. In her free time, she enjoys reading, writing, making jewelry, and spending time with friends and family.

Meghan (Meg) Perkins
Meghan is an English major with a concentration in creative writing. She is from Westiminster, MA. She is involved with the Endicott College Scholars Program, as well as the Endicott Review, Spoken Bird, Comedy Sketch Show Club, and intramurals. Meghan was awarded the position of Endicott College Writing Fellow for both the 2012 - 2013 and the 2013 - 2014 academic year. In the future, she hopes to be an author or an editor in the publishing business.

Nicole is an English major with a concentration in Creative Writing, and minors in both Spanish and Psychology. She is from Nashua, NH. At Endicott, Nicole is a Resident Assistant, a member of the Endicott College Scholars Program, and Sigma Tau Delta, the International English Honor Society. She enjoys helping people and hopes to instill a love of writing in others as a writing tutor.

Shannon Ryan
Shannon is majoring in Hospitality Management with a concentration in Event Management. She is from Nashua, NH. Shannon is a member of the Endicott College Scholars Program, as well as Endicott's Event Management Organization. After graduation, she hopes to pursue her interest of DIY projects and working with people by working for an event planning company in a busy New England city.

Rachel Socolow
Rachel is a Liberal Studies major with a concentration in Gender, Sexuality, and Sociology, and a minor in Psychology. She is from Westford, MA. At Endicott, Rachel is a member of the Women's Lacrosse team, the Endicott College Scholars Program, Liberal Studies Honor Society, and President of the EC Alliance. After graduation, she plans on traveling and eventually earning a Ph.D. in sociology.

Alyson Stearns
Alyson is a Psychology major with a minor in Human Services. She is from South Windsor, CT. Alyson hopes to become a substance abuse counselor when she graduates from Endicott and go to graduate school for a masters degree. In her spare time she enjoys playing softball, reading, and spending time with family and friends.

Kara Summerly
Kara Summerly is a Visual Communications major with a concentration in Graphic Design, and she is from East Greenwich, RI. Along with tutoring at the Writing Center, Kara is also a member of the Endicott College Scholars Program. Andrea West
Andrea West is a senior Psychology major with a Dance minor. She is captain of the Endicott College Dance Team and an active member of the Endicott Repertory Dance Ensemble, REACH Peer Education and LIGHThouse Leadership Society. She is also a member of the Endicott Scholars Program and Psi Chi. She hopes to one day become a licensed therapist for young adults and maybe dance professionally in the city!
