Licensure Examination Preparation
The Division of Academic Resources offers intensive laboratories and tutoring throughout the academic year to help prepare students to pass the Massachusetts Tests of Educator Licensure (MTEL) examinations required for elementary, early childhood, secondary education, physical education, and special needs licensure. Examination preparation laboratories are free of charge and focus on the specific skills and subjects covered on the licensure exams. Topics include test-taking skills and appropriate content knowledge for the Communication/Literacy, Foundations of Reading, Mathematics, and multi-subject matter exams. Laboratories are required of students enrolled in the Education, Secondary Education, and Physical Education Teacher Licensure programs.
The Division also conducts workshops to prepare student nurses for the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN) which is necessary in order to obtain initial license to practice nursing as a registered nurse (RN).
