Closed Captioning Your Videos with Camtasia

Workshop Descriptions

Closed Captioning Your Videos with Camtasia: This hands-on workshop will focus on using the software program Camtasia to close caption your videos so they are in compliance with ADA guidelines. We will go through the process of voice training the software, recording, editing, captioning, saving and uploading the videos to Mediacore, our cloud based media storage and distribution system. Please bring a short “talking head” video (1 minute or less) you have made of yourself to the workshop if possible – Instructor: Kent Barclay

Web Conferencing Solutions - Bb Collaborate and Big Blue Button:  Attend this workshop for an introduction to Endicott’s web conferencing options which allow you to moderate live, online classes and meetings. You will learn how to access Bb Collaborate or Big Blue Button from your Canvas or GullNet courses, launch a session, invite attendees, and record the session for later viewing.  We will also cover technical support and learning resources for you and students.

Canvas Basics: Attend this 2 hour workshop for a comprehensive introduction to Canvas. You will learn about Canvas features including uploading files, editing pages, creating modules, customizing the course navigation, and building assignments and grading. Instructor: Jane Tutein

Canvas Communication Tools: In this session, learn how to Canvas’s built-in communication tools to support your online or face-to-face courses! The tools include built-in audio and video features, feedback comments, Announcements, and Conversations/Inbox:Canvas email. Instructor: Jane Tutein

Canvas Groups and Collaborations: Canvas enhances class teamwork by easing group creation and collaboration. Workshop attendees will discover the structure of Canvas Groups, how to create and manage groups and group assignments, and the collaborative potential of live-edited documents.  This workshop is designed for individuals who have attended Canvas Basics or have prior experience with Canvas. Canvas Quizzes: The Canvas Learning Management System contains a powerful and flexible quizzing platform. This session will cover the process of building basic quizzes and question banks.  This workshop is designed for individuals who have attended Canvas Basics or have prior experience with the Canvas. Canvas Rubrics: Attend this workshop to learn how to create and use rubrics for grading assignments. This workshop is designed for individuals who have attended Canvas Basics or have prior experience with the Canvas.  Instructor: Jane Tutein

Build Your Canvas Course, Part 1 and 2:  Are you ready to create your course in Canvas, our new learning management system? Then bring materials and build your course in class. We will start with file transfer and build the course step by step. Instructor: Jane Tutein
